Divers Villa
A character-filled, colonial-style house overlooking the ocean, ideal for solo divers, couples or small groups travelling together.

Both options are self-catering, allowing flexibility around dive schedules and surface intervals.
Christmas Island is known for caves, coral gardens, and steep drop-offs, with excellent visibility (often 30m+) and warm water year-round (around 24–28°C). Expect reef sharks commonly, plus the chance of larger pelagics.
Dive schedule
Daily half-day trips: 2 dives, departing 07:30 and returning around 12:00.
Afternoon trips: run regularly in busier periods (typically 13:30 start, 2 dives).
Dive profile: max 30m (or your training depth), max 1 hour each dive, minimum 1 hour surface interval.
Non-divers can often join to snorkel or enjoy time on the water.
Boats
Extra Divers operates two purpose-built dive/snorkel vessels, Nemo and Ocean Diver, designed for comfort and stability with shaded seating, generous deck space, easy water access and freshwater rinse stations.
Nemo is listed as 11.5m x 4m, AMSA surveyed, with onboard toilet, fin-friendly ladders and freshwater shower.
(Note: Ocean Diver is stated as unavailable in 2025 due to maintenance.)
Gear hire, gases & requirements
- Full range of rental equipment available.
- Nitrox available (they note they are the only dive centre on the island offering it).
- Cylinders are DIN and Yoke/INT.
- Each diver is required to carry an SMB.
- Technical diving support may be available on request.
Courses
Training is offered across SSI and PADI, from entry-level through advanced options including Nitrox and Deep Diver (among others).
