Madagascar has pristine reefs, abundant marine life, and unique biodiversity. The island boasts a variety of dive sites, from shallow coral gardens to deeper, more challenging drift dives. Expect to encounter vibrant coral formations, diverse fish species, and even large pelagics like whale sharks, humpback whales, and manta rays.

The island nation is famously home to numerous endemic species above and below water, offering a truly unique diving and wildlife experience.

The island offers a range of diving locations, including Nosy Be and surrounding islands which are renown for rich coral reefs, abundant marine life, and whale shark sightings. There are some fantastic shipwrecks and vibrant marine life in Isle Sainte Marie, and on the southwest coast (Anakao, Ifaty, Belo-sur-Mer), a long coral reef and a great spot (in season) to encounter humpback whales. Year-round warm water temperatures (25°C-28°C) make diving comfortable.

Nosy Be: This island is a hub for diving, with sites like Nosy Tanikely Marine Reserve offering diverse coral formations and abundant marine life, including turtles, groupers, and various shark species.

Nosy Tanikely: A protected marine reserve known for its vibrant coral gardens, sea turtles, clownfish, reef sharks, and schools of snapper.

Nosy Sakatia: A great spot for macro photography, with nudibranchs, leaf fish, and ghost pipefish.

Mitsio Archipelago: Drop-offs, pelagic species like barracudas and tuna, and impressive underwater rock formations.

Île Sainte-Marie: Underwater caves and tunnels, diverse landscapes, and whale watching opportunities.

Anakao: Offers underwater caves perfect for adventurous divers.

Other highlights: Whale sharks are often spotted near Nosy Be between September and December, and humpback whales can be seen in the waters around Île Sainte-Marie.

Wrecks: There are several interesting wrecks to explore around Nosy Be, including a trawler, a freight barge, and a sailboat.
