The newest addition to the fleet is ‘Siladen 12’, a fibreglass boat custom-built diving. The boats carry up to 12 divers each. The dive service is outstanding. The dives are guided by Indonesian guides who are excellent in finding macro rarities on the reefs. The guide to guest ratio is 1:4.

Dive Sites

Siladen Resort has a rich house reef which turns snorkelling and night diving into a unique experience. Another 50 unique dive sites are within 5 to 50 minutes from the resort.

Dive Schedule

Diving at Siladen is organised to offer you maximum comfort. At 8 am every morning divers meet at the Diving Centre for the morning briefing session. Boats leave at 8:30 am to allow guests to take two-morning dives and return to the resort for lunch at around 1 pm. Afternoon diving is available at 3 pm and night diving is available every evening at 6 pm. The maximum number of dives per day is 4, including the night dive.

Dive area

Bunaken National Park consists of seven islands and is located in the Bay of Manado. The diving area is famous for its beautiful overgrown steep coral walls and the great richness of species living here. The drop-offs start in the shallows of 1-2 m (3-6 ft) and then fall off steeply. There is always a shallow reef to enjoy the safety stop in an array of colourful fish, and this makes those reefs also an ideal area for snorkelers. Bunaken is turtle central with green turtles aplenty, and the occasional big leatherback and loggerhead turtles. There is also a beautiful wreck situated in the Bay of Manado, here divers often are accompanied by dolphins or pilot whales.

Check out some of the Lembeh Resort listings for what you’ll see in the Lembeh Strait, and the dive sites of Bangka are also within reach.

Snorkelling

At some dive resorts, snorkelers are tolerated, but not given the same service as divers. This is not the case at Siladen Resort which gives snorkelers the same treatment as divers, with a snorkel guide, a ratio of 1 guide per 4 snorkelers and at least 70 minutes per snorkelling session. With healthy and shallow reef tops, good visibility and a good variety of turtles and reef fish, Bunaken National Park is a paradise for snorkelers.

Depending on numbers, snorkelers may go out with divers or have their own dedicated boat. As with divers, upon arrival at the site, guests receive a site-specific briefing explaining the site’s topography and what they can expect to see, followed by important safety information.
