Beqa Lagoon Resort is a secluded island property located in Fiji’s Western Province, positioned on Beqa Island across the calm waters of Beqa Lagoon. Accessed by boat, the resort is designed as a remote retreat that blends tropical surroundings with relaxed island living. Guests arrive to traditional Fijian welcomes and a setting defined by warm hospitality, lush gardens, and beachfront views.
The resort combines relaxation and outdoor adventure, offering direct access to lagoon activities, cultural experiences, and one of Fiji’s best-known diving regions. With landscaped grounds, open-air spaces, and traditional Fijian-style villas, the atmosphere is centered on simplicity, comfort, and immersion in island life.

Resort Facilities & Meals
Dining takes place in an open-air bure overlooking the lagoon, where daily menus feature fresh seafood, local produce, and international staples. The resort includes a beachfront infinity pool, the Lali Spa, a boutique, and a small seminar or activity room used for group sessions or presentations. The Bula Bar and beach bonfire area provide a social space for evening drinks and live music.
Activities
Non-diving activities include kayaking, paddleboarding, snorkeling, rainforest walks, waterfall excursions, village visits, cultural performances, and island tours. Guests may also join cooking demonstrations, coconut shows, or island-hopping trips to nearby atolls and historical sites.
Staying Connected
Wi-Fi is available in resort areas and most accommodation zones. As Beqa Island is remote, internet speeds can vary, but connectivity is generally suitable for communication and basic online use.
We Think . . .
Beqa Lagoon Resort is best suited to travelers looking for an authentic island experience that balances comfort with adventure. Its appeal lies in easy access to nature, cultural immersion, and a strong diving program rather than high-end luxury styling.
Beqa Island lies south of Fiji’s main island, Viti Levu, within the South Pacific archipelago. The island is relatively undeveloped, with no roads or towns and only a few traditional villages along the coastline. Dense rainforest, tropical vegetation, sandy beaches, and calm lagoon waters define the landscape, creating a quiet and secluded environment.
The resort sits on approximately ten acres of tropical gardens and coastal forest overlooking the lagoon. Surrounding waters are protected by the Great Beqa Reef, while inland areas feature walking trails, streams, and waterfalls that support hiking and cultural excursions.
How to Get There
International travelers arrive via Nadi International Airport in Fiji. From Nadi, guests travel by road for approximately 2.5 hours along the Coral Coast to Pacific Harbor Marina. From there, resort boat transfers take guests across the lagoon to Beqa Island. Ground and boat transfers are typically arranged in advance, and packages may include return transfers.
All accommodation at Beqa Lagoon Resort consists of traditional Fijian-style bures (villas), designed with open-plan layouts, tiled floors, air-conditioning, ceiling fans, tea and coffee facilities, and outdoor decks. Villas are spread throughout tropical gardens or positioned near the beachfront, creating a sense of privacy while remaining close to shared facilities.
Beachfront Bure
Beachfront Bures sit closest to the shoreline with direct beach access and ocean views. Each includes a private sun deck, plunge pool, hammock, outdoor seating area, and tropical garden courtyard. Interiors feature king and double beds, lounge seating, and spacious bathrooms with walk-in showers.
Koi Pond Bure
Koi Pond Bures are accessed via private boardwalks overlooking a landscaped koi pond with fountain features. These bures offer private patios and the same core amenities as beachfront units, with a quieter garden-focused setting.
Garden Bure
Garden Bures are positioned within lush tropical greenery among banana and pawpaw trees. These offer a more secluded atmosphere while maintaining similar interiors and facilities, including entertainment patios and spacious bathrooms.
Two-Bedroom Oceanview Suites
Designed for families or groups, the two-bedroom suites include separate sleeping areas, a lounge and dining space, private balcony or veranda, and expansive views over the resort grounds toward the ocean. These units provide added space while maintaining the same island-style design.
Diving Location Features
Beqa Lagoon Resort sits beside the Great Beqa Reef, a barrier reef system stretching roughly 190 miles around the lagoon. Diving here is known for clear water, mild currents, and extensive soft coral growth, which has earned Fiji the title “Soft Coral Capital of the World.” Dive depths range from shallow reefs around 5 m to walls dropping beyond 30 m, supporting a wide variety of marine life including reef fish, rays, eels, and pelagic species.
Water temperatures generally range between 25–29 °C, allowing comfortable diving year-round in light wetsuits. The protected lagoon also provides ideal conditions for shore dives and snorkeling.
Dive Services
The resort operates a full-service PADI 5-Star Dive Center, offering guided boat dives, unlimited shore diving, Nitrox, equipment rental, and training from beginner level through professional certification. Boat dives are guided by experienced local divemasters familiar with the reef’s topography and marine behavior.
Diving options include reef dives, wreck exploration, night dives, macro photography opportunities, and specialty shark encounters. The on-site Nitrox compressor allows certified divers to extend bottom time, and introductory programs are available for beginners, including youth programs.
Dive Sites
Beqa Lagoon includes more than 100 dive sites, many located within short boat rides from the resort. Highlights include:
- Cathedral Shark Dive – a well-known big-fish encounter featuring multiple shark species including tiger and bull sharks.
- Fantasea – soft coral gardens and large sea fans.
- Carpet Cove – anemone fields with clownfish and nearby wreck structure.
- John’s Tunnel – swim-through tunnel lined with soft coral.
- Joe’s Best – coral head with swim-throughs, barracuda schools, and reef life.
- Blue Wall & Frigate Wall – steep wall dives with strong coral growth, rays, and occasional pelagic species.
- House Reef – shallow, protected reef ideal for shore and night diving, featuring juvenile fish, rays, and macro life.
These sites combine reef, wall, and wreck diving, making Beqa Lagoon Resort suitable for both recreational divers and experienced underwater photographers.
