Aqua-Trek, Beqa Lagoon

Aqua-Trek has been operating in Fiji since 1987, diving Beqa Lagoon’s world-famous Bistro Shark Dive, also offering incredible soft coral diving, wreck diving, and PADI courses through dive master level. Aqua-Trek’s ‘Bistro’ shark-feeding dive boasts eight species of shark and nearly 300 species of fish.

Aqua-Trek pioneered shark diving in Fiji over 20 years ago, now operating the ultimate shark encounter on Lake Reef offering the great visibility, a large and diverse shark population and regular tiger shark sightings.

Since 1999 Aqua-Trek has been working closely with the Fiji Government and the traditional owners of the reefs to protect sharks by having the reefs and the surrounding area declared Marine Protected Areas. As a result of their efforts, Shark Reef, Lake Reef and the barrier reef system connecting the two sites have been declared Marine Protected Areas.

Aqua-Trek is located on the grounds of the The Pearl South Pacific Resort & Spa, a river-front resort in Pacific Harbour.

The Shark Dive at the Bistro is  a 10-minute boat ride from Pacific Harbour. Max depth is 24m, with two dives at the site, the second 18m deep. The site is an easy dive and is set up for diver safety. Divers stand behind a rope and view the sharks and big fish as the feeder puts food out.  Divers can see up to eight species of shark on one dive including multiple bull sharks and occasional tiger sharks. There is also a wreck at the site which divers can swim around after watching the sharks.

Beqa Lagoon is also a hot spot for soft coral, with some beautiful reef dives sites including Pearl Rock, Fantasy 1 and 2, Glory Hole, Seven Sisters and Million Dollar Point. There are also several wrecks, including an old trawler at Carpet Cove and another at Johns Tunnel.

The Standard Studio has sleeping arrangements for 3 persons and the King Studio features 1 King-size bed. Each guest room includes air conditioning, a balcony and ironing facilities. Some rooms have a river view. The kitchen is fitted with an electric kettle, tea and coffee making equipment and a fridge.
