Nestled into the slopes of Mount Trafalgar, the resort overlooks sheer rock cliffs that drop into a pristine fjord, surrounded by lush rainforest extending down to the water’s edge. This breathtaking setting, combined with luxury accommodations and exceptional dive opportunities, makes Tufi Resort an extraordinary destination for adventure seekers and relaxation enthusiasts alike.

With over 30 years of operation, Tufi Resort has built a strong reputation as a premier scuba diving destination in Papua New Guinea. Special dietary requests can be accommodated with prior notice.

Activities

Beyond diving, Tufi Resort offers a variety of land and water-based adventures. For those seeking relaxation, the resort’s private beach, scenic fjord tours, and guided excursions to waterfalls provide the perfect escape.

Staying Connected

We Think . . .

Tufi Resort is a top-tier destination for divers and adventure seekers looking to explore Papua New Guinea’s stunning fjords and marine biodiversity. With luxurious accommodations, exceptional dive sites, and warm hospitality, it provides an unforgettable experience for both seasoned divers and first-time visitors. Whether you seek thrilling underwater encounters or a peaceful escape in nature, Tufi Resort delivers an unparalleled getaway.

Tufi Resort is a secluded paradise located along Papua New Guinea’s northern coastline in the Oro Province. Approximately 250 kilometers east-northeast of Port Moresby, it is nestled on the slopes of Mount Trafalgar, offering breathtaking views of the fjords and rainforest-covered cliffs that plunge into the crystal-clear waters. This untouched natural setting makes Tufi Resort a perfect destination for those seeking both adventure and tranquility.

How to Get There

Due to its remote location, Tufi is accessible only by air, as no roads connect it to other regions of Papua New Guinea. Flights operate twice a week—on Mondays and Fridays—and are arranged through the resort. Guests also enjoy the benefit of a private check-in at Tropicair’s exclusive terminal, avoiding delays and commercial flight cancellations, ensuring a seamless travel experience.

Four smaller boats are also available for diving, fishing, or sightseeing.

  • I've been using these guys since 2008, and every single trip has been awesome. Only thing I need to worry is to get to airport in time. They have wide experience of dive destinations and there's always an option to pick. Strong recommendation!

  • The team at Diveplanit were tremendous help for my recent trip to Palau. The trip was a bit last minute, and bookings were filling up, so I appreciated Claire’s patience and first-hand knowledge as we tried to find the right combination of dates, flights and operators. Unsurprisingly, the trip was spectacular and ticked off multiple bucket list experiences.

  • Michelle is a legend. I didn't know how difficult it could be to organise travel and diving in Vanuatu! Having been there, I can only wonder at the organisation and care that went into making my trip special. There was even a cancelled flight that meant a rearrangement of activities on a couple of days. But it all went seamlessly. I would highly recommend Diveplanit.

    Robert E

  • Michelle was fantastic in helping with my recent PNG excursion. I got straightforward and detailed advice, and nothing was too much trouble. I had some package tweaks after committing to the initial trip, but the changes were no problem. There's no question whom I'll contact for my next South Pacific itinerary.

  • Had a fabulous trip diving at Ningaloo, all organised from the other side of the world by Claire at Diveplanit. When the airline cancelled my flights and I would’ve been stranded, she rescheduled them for me on a Sunday! That’s 7-star rating! 🙏 🥰
