The Sailing Yacht (S/Y) Philippine Siren, like the other Siren yachts, is a traditional Phinisi schooner, handcrafted from ironwood and teak, offering trips around Malapascua, the Visayas and the Tubbataha Reef National Park. The Philippine Siren is larger and even more comfortable than its sister ships, and it’s an absolute pleasure to sail on this beautiful liveaboard boat.

Features

The Philippine Siren has a spacious air-conditioned saloon with cocktail bar, coffee machine, entertainment system with music and movies, small library and cosy sitting area. The dining area in the saloon is also very spacious, and there is a covered outdoor dining area at the stern of the boat with panoramic views. There are plenty of quiet shady spots in the bow and there is a sundeck with lounge chairs on top of the salon.

Laundry and massage services are available for a small fee.

We think…

Philippine Siren is a really fantastic liveaboard boat, and a great way to dive in the Philippines. We are confident that the Philippine Siren will not disappoint!

The different Philippine Siren itineraries depart from different destinations: the Tubbataha Reefs trips depart from Puerto Princesa, the Malapascua and The Visayas trips depart Cebu, and trips in the Southern Visayas have one-way trips that start/end in Cebu or Moalboal – depending on direction.

The Philippine Siren has 8 large air-conditioned cabins each with their own en suite bathroom and porthole. There are four fixed twin cabins, two fixed double cabins, and two which can be configured as either double or twins. All cabins include luxury extras like bathrobes, hairdryers, individually controlled lighting and air-con, and even its own PC where you can download your photos.

Diving

Diving is offered in small groups of up to 6 divers, though guests are welcome to dive in buddy pairs if they prefer. Up to 4 dives are offered per full dive day (3 day dives and either a sunset or a night dive) and dive time is usually limited to 1 hour. Palau Siren has 2 high-powered Zodiacs available as dive tenders. The dive deck offers lots of space for all divers and a designated area for underwater photographers and videographers with a purpose-built basin to wash down cameras. All Siren fleet vessels have tanks that can take either DIN or Yoke regulators.

Nitrox is available onboard the vessel and Nitrox courses are offered as well. The Siren Fleet is rebreather friendly. Poseidon rebreather courses and rental gear is available.

Dive Regions

Like other liveaboards in the Philippines, Philippine Siren offers different itineraries that take advantage of the seasonal conditions in the Philippines throughout the year.

* Malapascua and Northern Visayas from Cebu during October to January

* Tubbataha Reef National Park from Puerto Princessa during March to May

* Southern Visayas from Cebu or Moalboal during June to September.

Some of the very best trips are when the boat makes the voyage from one region to another, providing a great variety of diving on slightly longer trips.

Staying Connected

Due to the remoteness of the itineraries, no Internet service is provided onboard the Philippine Siren. Mobiles with a local SIM or ‘roaming’ may get a signal at some points during the cruise, but it’s not something to be relied on. Tip: Leave the mobile (and your boss) in the bottom draw of your desk at home – and truly relax for a while.
