The SPUMS ASM 2027 will be held at the Atmosphere Resort & Spa, in Dumaguete, in the Philippines between Sunday 16 and Saturday 22 May 2027, with daily morning diving and snorkelling, and afternoon conference sessions.

Once you have made your selection, you can send us your required options via the form on the last [SPUMS Form] tab. (Note that all pricing, and prices on your invoice, is in Philippine Pesos (PHP), but will be converted to your local currency when payments are due).

Atmosphere Resort & Spa
Set between lush tropical mountains and the ocean in Dauin, Negros Oriental, Atmosphere Resorts & Spa provides an exceptional setting for the SPUMS Annual Scientific Meeting, combining five-star comfort with world-class diving on the Dauin coast and nearby Apo Island.

Diving

Nearby Apo Island offers a striking contrast, with spectacular coral reefs, walls, turtles and schooling fish. Small groups of no more than six divers per guide ensure personalised diving, with up to five dives available daily. Dedicated facilities include spacious dive areas and a professional camera room.

Pre- and Post-Conference Trip Options
Delegates can take advantage of discounted Philippines dive trip extensions, including a liveaboard trip to the Tubbataha Reefs or simply an extended stay at Atmosphere Resort. Diveplanit has optioned a number of spaces on the Philippines Aggressor II for the 8-15 May 2027 Tubbataha trip which fits with conference dates. More details on the [Pre & Post] tab.

Deluxe Suites are newly renovated, with remodelled bedrooms and bathrooms, and the added amenity of a desk. The bedroom comes with a California king-sized bed that can be converted into a twin share. Convenient reading lights and black-out curtains are standard, as are sockets for charging and Nespresso machines with complimentary pods.
The new airy and bright design seamlessly connects the bedroom with the bathroom, a beautiful set-up with double sinks, vanity mirrors and a rain shower – close to nature, but with privacy.
Size: 65m2, including a furnished veranda and en-suite bathroom.
Sleeping: California king or two twin beds. A baby cot can be added upon request.

The Garden Studios have a spacious lounge with a dining area, a kitchen with refrigerator and separate bedroom. Sliding doors lead out onto the veranda with its lounging area and sunbed. Each studio also boasts a master bedroom with a walk in closet and floor to ceiling glass partition between the bathroom and bedroom.

The four second-floor Penthouses are the largest type of accommodation, suitable for a family or two couples. The large floor area allows for a beautiful and spacious arrangement comprising the master bedroom and guest bedroom, two modern en-suite bathrooms and an open plan kitchen overlooking a huge living and dining area.
The vast external balcony with views over the gardens has a comfortable seating area as well as two sunbeds. The guest bedroom can be made up with either a California king or twin beds.
Access is via an external stairway.
Size: 205m2, including a furnished terrace, spacious lounge, dining area and a kitchen, two bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms.

The Pool Suites are the most private room type, where the terrace and lounge overlook the private pool, surrounded by greenery.

Diving & Snorkelling, Activities and Tours
Apo Island
Coastal Reef
Atmosphere offers exceptional diving along the Dauin coast, renowned for world-class muck diving and extraordinary macro life, from frogfish and seahorses to colourful nudibranchs.
The House Reef can be dived from Atmosphere’s own shoreline, whereas other coastal reefs are access via boat.
Nearby Apo Island offers a striking contrast, with spectacular coral reefs, walls, turtles and schooling fish.
Apo Island Marine Reserve is one of the earliest established marine reserves in the world. The healthy pristine coral reefs and abundant marine life are impressive.
Small groups of no more than six divers per guide ensure personalised diving. Dedicated facilities include a spacious dive centre and a professional camera room.
Snorkelling on the House Reef is free of charge, and there will be dedicated snorkelling trips available to visit Apo Island in the afternoons during the week.

Diving & Snorkelling Packages
The following Dive & Snorkel Packages will be offered (on your invoice these will appear as ‘In-water practical workshops’):
- 5 Day Dive Package (2 x Apo, 2 x Coastal & 1 x House) – 10 dives in total – PHP 37,800
- 3 Day Dive Package (1 x Apo, 1 x Coastal & 1 x House) – 6 dives in total – PHP 25,200
- 2 Day Dive Package (1 x Apo, 1 x House) – 4 dives in total – PHP 16,800
- Oslob – snorkeling with whale sharks (morning half day) – PHP 9,700
Note that dive packages are for consecutive days, starting and/or ending the conference start and end days. Participants can give their preferences as to which days to dive and with which buddy and in which group and these will be honoured as far as possible. All dive packages include at least one trip to Apo Island.
Once a diver has added a dive package to their booking, they will be sent a diver FAQ form with a QR code so they can check-in online with Atmosphere and request, if required, a large tank and gear hire for a fee and free Nitrox. This will ensure that these services are offered on a first-come first-served basis.
The Daily Dive Schedule will be locked in weeks in advance of the Conference and it will be published and managed by the Resort. It will be available on the physical Dive Schedule board at the dive centre in the afternoon prior to each dive day.
Divers will be grouped by boat and will depart starting at 7:00 through to 9:00 am, two boats every 30 minutes; 6-8 pax for speedboats; 10-16 pax for the larger groups.
There will be different start times for each boat each day depending on the destination; so divers will start at different times each day.
Resort Activities available during SPUMS 2027
The following activities are available to pre-book. Massages and Yoga sessions may be available to book at full retail price at the conference subject to availability.
Signature Massage – 90 minutes
Unwind at Atmosphere’s award-winning Sanctuary Spa, set within a secluded tropical garden of waterfalls, ponds and lush vegetation. The Atmosphere Signature Massage is one of the spa’s signature full-body treatments, designed to encourage deep relaxation and rejuvenation. The experience begins with a refreshing foot ritual and concludes with a calming herbal tea ceremony. PHP 5,880 per session
Stress Reliever Massage – 60 minutes
Take some time out from the conference program with a Stress Reliever Massage at the beautiful Sanctuary Spa. One of Atmosphere’s eight full-body massage experiences, this treatment is designed to ease tension and promote physical and mental relaxation. Enjoy your treatment in a private garden pavilion, surrounded by the tranquil sounds of waterfalls and tropical gardens. PHP 4700 per session
Yoga Session
Start or finish your day with a relaxing yoga session on Atmosphere’s elevated treehouse yoga platform, surrounded by tropical greenery and the sounds of the ocean. Led by experienced yoga teachers, sessions cater for different experience levels, from gently paced classes suitable for beginners to more dynamic options for experienced yogis, combining movement, flexibility and mindfulness in a beautiful setting. Kids Club Package – 3 Sessions + Movie Night
Give younger delegates their own holiday experience while parents enjoy the conference. The Kids Club Package includes three supervised 2.5-hour Kids Club sessions, plus a 1.5-hour movie night. Atmosphere is particularly family-friendly, with activities for younger guests extending from diving and snorkelling to yoga, marine-themed experiences and other age-appropriate activities. PADI Junior Open Water Diver Course
Young adventurers can earn their first full scuba certification with Atmosphere’s PADI Junior Open Water Diver Course. Designed for children aged 10 to 14, the course covers the same core skills and knowledge as the standard Open Water course, adapted for younger divers with smaller instructor-to-student ratios and appropriate depth limits. It’s a wonderful opportunity for families to start diving together. PHP 29,950
PADI Bubblemaker
A fun introduction to scuba for children aged eight and over, the PADI Bubblemaker gives kids the excitement of breathing underwater while learning basic scuba skills through games and play. After becoming comfortable in the pool, there is the opportunity to experience a shallow ocean dive to a maximum depth of two metres, where even young divers can discover corals, tropical fish and possibly turtles. Tour 1. Apo Island Snorkel Tour – Afternoon Half Day
This trip is primarily designed for non-delegates who have an afternoon free. Departure is at 1pm latest. Discover the spectacular reefs of Apo Island, one of the Philippines’ best-known marine sanctuaries. Enjoy an afternoon snorkelling over colourful coral gardens teeming with tropical fish, with an excellent chance of encountering the island’s resident green and hawksbill turtles. Tour 2. Casaroro Waterfall – Morning Half Day | Min. 4 pax
Head into the lush mountains of Negros Oriental to visit Casaroro Falls, an impressive 40-metre waterfall surrounded by tropical forest. Tour 3. Pulang Bato & Hot Springs – Morning Half Day | Min. 4 pax
Explore the volcanic landscapes around Valencia, visiting the distinctive Pulang Bato waterfall and the area’s naturally heated springs. Tour 5. Bird Watching at Twin Lakes | Min. 2 pax
Journey into the mountains to the beautiful Twin Lakes, where forest, lakes and abundant wildlife provide an ideal setting for birdwatching. Negros Oriental is remarkably rich in birdlife, with around 315 species recorded in the province. This nature-focused excursion offers the opportunity to discover some of the region’s birdlife while enjoying the peaceful scenery of one of the island’s most beautiful natural areas. PHP 9,100 pp
Dining During the Conference
Meal arrangements throughout the conference have been carefully planned to ensure divers can depart in good time for their dives, while non-divers can enjoy a more leisurely dining experience. With Atmosphere fully occupied during the conference, and guests from the adjoining property also joining us for meals, the dining program has been designed to keep everything running smoothly – while giving Chef Jun and his team plenty of opportunity to showcase Atmosphere’s renowned cuisine.
Breakfast will include both buffet and à la carte options, lunch will be served buffet-style, and dinner will be à la carte. On Wednesday evening, guests will enjoy a special themed buffet dinner accompanied by a cultural performance.
Buffet breakfast includes tea and brewed coffee. Throughout the day, soft drinks, alcoholic beverages, barista-made coffees and speciality teas will be available for purchase.
Chef Jun and his team will cater for all dietary requirements, with age-appropriate meals also available for children.

The mandatory full-board meal package covers breakfast on Monday through to breakfast on Saturday and includes six breakfasts, five lunches and four dinners. Adult (PHP 27,150 pp) and child packages (5–11 years) (PHP 16,950 pc) will be added to your conference invoice. Children aged 0–4 years dine free of charge.
Atmosphere Resort
Delegates are invited to extend their stay at Atmosphere Resort either pre- or post-conference. The resort has offered delegates and guests a 10% discount for this option.
Tubbataha Reef aboard the Philippines Aggressor II Liveaboard
Diveplanit has optioned a number of spaces on the Philippines Aggressor II for the 8-15 May 2027 trip which fits with conference dates.
Start your SPUMS adventure with seven unforgettable nights diving Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park aboard the Philippines Aggressor II. Explore pristine coral walls and reefs alive with sharks, manta rays, turtles, schooling fish and possible whale sharks.
