M/Y SS Contessa liveaboard is part of the Sea Serpent Liveaboard Fleet with a variety of dive itineraries in the Red Sea. Launched in 2006, this five-star liveaboard was built specifically for dive cruises and boasts a distinctly large dive platform on its stern. M/Y SS Contessa operates 7-night trips from Hurghada and Port Ghalib and travels to all of the best dive sites in the Red Sea.
The large salon on the sun deck with 360-degree panoramic view contains the dining area and a bar where three buffet-style meals, mostly European and some Arab specialties, are served daily. Soft drinks, coffee, tea & water, several kinds of beer and local wines are available for purchase. There is also a salon on the Sundeck, and outside, a sun deck with plenty of space to enjoy the sun or relax in the shade. The Fly Deck provides additional space for true sun worshippers.
The large dive deck is very spaciously laid out and offers plenty of room for each diver. The M/Y SS Contessa has 2 dinghies (Zodiacs) for diving, 2 emergency rafts, first aid equipment and oxygen as well as the necessary safety equipment expected of a modern liveaboard.

The liveaboards of the Sea Serpent Fleet operate from the two ports Hurghada (HRG) and Marsa Alam/Port Ghaleb (PG). Return transfers from the airport are provided to the liveaboard’s location at a Red Seaport. At the airport, a representative will be waiting for you with a sign indicating the name of the boat you have booked. They can also provide Meet & Assist services inside the terminal, including entry visa upon request.
Check-in and Out:
Check-in is not before 5 pm on the first day of the trip and check-out is latest by 10 am on the last day of the trip. The first night of the trip is spent on-board at the port, last night of the trip is spent on-board at the port or in a 4 Star hotel, according to the boat’s schedule. The last dive of the trip is around noon of the penultimate day of the trip, with the boat arriving in port boat that afternoon.
M/Y SS Contessa liveaboard at 36 metres length (117 ft.) offers plenty of space for a maximum of 24 divers. Each of the 12 guest cabins has an en-suite bathroom, a port hole which can be opened for fresh air, and individual air conditioning. There are 2 double cabins and 10 twins with side by side beds. Electricity is provided via European (2 round pin) style sockets.
Dive Service
Three to four dives are offered daily and conducted mostly by the dinghies. Nitrox is available free for Nitrox certified divers. Tanks are standard 12L aluminium tanks with INT, but DIN are also available. 15L tanks can be pre-booked for an additional charge. Note that rental gear is not normally available but can be hired by advance notification only.
