Travel to the heart of French Polynesia on this seven-day dive adventure on Tahiti Island, renowned for its sparkling lagoons and jagged volcanic peaks. Divers will stay at a luxury resort near Papeete, conveniently just minutes away from the international airport, with both lagoon and ocean dives included.

Tropical sunshine and warm water mean you can easily dive here year-round, but May through October are Tahiti’s dry season. However, the rainy season of November through April brings increased plankton, and with it more chances of spotting sharks and large pelagic species.

Underwater amphitheatres, wrecks and sun drenched reef dives offer beautiful and surprising dives for all abilities, with ample opportunity to spot sharks, leopard rays, turtles and colourful sea fans. It’s ideal for enthusiastic travellers seeking a quintessential tropical locale, matched with world-class diving.

From August through to October, humpback whales visit the region, and in-water encounters are possible between the islands of Tahiti and Moorea.

Dive Sites (Lagoon)

The 3 Wrecks: One of the deepest lagoon dives, this site is home to the Catalina PBY-5A wreck, scuttled in 1977. It’s still largely intact and lies on the seabed floor, between 20m-25m. Now, the wreck is home to a range of marine life. Maximum depth 30m.

The Aquarium: This popular dive site features a sunken Cessna 172 in shallow water, ideal for newer divers and snorkellers. It’s a kaleidoscope of sea life as well, with lagoon fish like clownfish, parrotfish, lionfish, stonefish, and triggerfish often present. Maximum depth 13m.

Mount Rey-Rey: Home to several rocky outcrops that attract large groups of leopard rays, this fun dive is also a good place to see nudibranchs, star pufferfish, scorpionfish, and stonefish. Maximum depth 20m.

The Scree les Eboulis: This vibrant coral reef is popular for night dives. Species seen here include Moray eels, stingrays, scorpionfish, turtles, and the occasional leopard ray. Maximum depth 20m.

La Vallee Blanche: One of Tahiti’s most impressive dives, named for a white strip of seabed sand, is a popular hangout spot for sharks. Often, divers observe grey, black-tip, lemon, white-tip, and even tiger sharks here. Other inhabitants include schools of barracuda, Maori groupers, and leopard rays. Maximum depth 35m.

Tahi Nui: A popular drift dive site that’s great for macro, including shrimp, crabs, and nudibranchs. There’s also a wreck here at 28m. Maximum depth 40m.
