Cocos Island Aggressor is a 124-foot liveaboard operating from Puntarenas, Costa Rica, offering multi-day dive expeditions to Cocos Island. Designed for stability and long-range crossings, the vessel accommodates up to 22 guests and focuses on extended dive itineraries in one of the Eastern Pacific’s most remote marine environments.
Cocos Island is known for its pelagic-focused diving, particularly large schools of sharks and open-water species. Trips involve a long offshore crossing followed by several days of diving around seamounts and island-based sites.

Facilities & Meals
The vessel includes a spacious indoor salon, sun deck with loungers, deck chairs, and personal storage for dive equipment. Each diver is assigned a storage area, and the dive deck is equipped with 80 cubic foot tanks, weight belts, and weights, with both DIN and K-valve compatibility.
Meals are provided throughout the trip, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. The menu includes a mix of American-style meals and local dishes. Soft drinks, coffee, tea, and a limited selection of beer and wine are included, while additional alcoholic beverages may be brought onboard.
Activities
The primary activity is scuba diving, supported by daily dive schedules. Evenings may include fish identification presentations, movies, and informal group activities, or time spent relaxing on deck.
Staying Connected
Due to the remote offshore location, internet and mobile signal are generally unavailable during the trip.
We Think . .
Cocos Island Aggressor suits experienced divers looking for remote, pelagic-focused diving with consistent shark encounters, structured schedules, and extended time at a single offshore destination.
Cocos Island lies in the eastern Pacific Ocean, approximately 550 km off the coast of Costa Rica. The island is a designated national park and is known for its strong currents, seamounts, and open-ocean conditions that attract large pelagic species.
The remoteness of the location means dive trips involve extended crossings and multi-day itineraries focused entirely around the island.
How to Get There
- International flights arrive into San José (SJO), Costa Rica
- Guests typically stay overnight prior to departure
- A two-hour transfer by road connects San José to Puntarenas

Diving Location Features
Diving at Cocos Island is characterised by strong currents, seamounts, and open-ocean conditions. Depth ranges typically fall within recreational limits, but conditions can be challenging due to surge and current. The area is known for pelagic marine life, including large schools of sharks and other open-water species.
Dive Services
Diving is conducted from the liveaboard using tenders. Tanks, weights, and standard setup are provided, and divers are expected to follow safety protocols appropriate for current diving and offshore conditions.
Trips typically include multiple dives per day over several days at the island following the initial crossing. Dive briefings are conducted before each dive, and equipment storage is managed onboard with assigned diver stations.
