The New White Manta liveaboard is a world-class cruising hotel. She operates 6-7 night dive cruises in Raja Ampat and East Kalimantan. Located in Raja Ampat from January to May and in East Kalimantan from June to August. There are extended relocation cruises when she transfers between these areas through the Banda Sea, Ring of Fire and the Forgotten Islands. These re-location cruises visit some of remotest places that are only accessible on liveaboards.

The White Manta provides the perfect luxury platform to dive either of these iconic regions in style. Enjoy camera-friendly facilities, including a dedicated camera room, delicious food, a generous dive deck, a beautiful sundeck and 24-hour satellite WIFI.

Cuisine & Lounging

Offering a fine selection of local and international cuisine, guests can choose to dine in air-conditioned comfort in the indoor dining area or enjoy the magnificent meals al-fresco in the outdoor dining area.

With no fewer than five meals a day, can start your day with freshly baked breads, and be filled and satisfied with an extensive range of meals throughout the day. Snacks, tea and coffee, hot chocolate and drinking water are available all day. Special dietary requests can be catered for with prior notice.

White Manta’s air-conditioned saloon is a perfect place to relax with a drink from the extensive bar, watch a movie, read a book or magazine, or sit with your notebook computer and edit treasured moments of the dives.

Aboard the White Manta, the dedicated indoor camera room will keep all underwater photographers happy. It has plenty of room to set up DSLR cameras, strobes, lenses, extra battery packs, a charging area and storage space is available those with laptops, cameras, torches or DPV’s. Note that power onboard is 220V and available international sockets.

The icing on the cake is the sundeck, partially shaded, it is a perfect place to catch a tan, enjoy a relaxing massage, or take a short nap.

The White Manta is a very comfortable dive liveaboard with modern features expected by discerning dive guests.  It is an especially good choice for solo divers with a low single supplement of 10%.

White Manta departs from a number of different destinations depending on itinerary.

Itineraries:

  • Raja Ampat (Nov-Apr) 7 & 8 night trips around the very best of Raja Ampat & Misool
  • Komodo (May-Sep) 8-night trips alternating start/finish between Bali & Labuan Bajo
  • Crossing trips (Apr/Sep-Oct) to Maumere, Alor, Banda, Ring of Fire, Ambon, Forgotten Island, Triton Bay and more; all stunning beautiful both above & below the water

The White Manta liveaboard is a large purpose-built dive liveaboard 46m long by 10m wide, both spacious and comfortable. Onboard are 14 beautifully furnished en-suite cabins, each averaging 20sqm in size, an open outdoor alfresco dining area, and an indoor air-conditioned room for finer dining, all designed for the perfect onboard ambiance of a luxurious dive holiday.

Comfortable, roomy and beautifully designed each cabin provides a home away from home even in the most exotic of locations. The White Manta liveaboard also has a number of family-friendly cabins too, with combined double/twin share options available.

The professional dive team offers divers experienced guidance above and below the water, and diving is conducted in small groups of similar experience, cert level and objectives.

Four support RIBs are deployed constantly during dives, so you can be assured of surface cover and safety support during your dive, even in the most adventurous of currents.

The White Manta offers a full complement of rental equipment on-board, with cylinders available in yoke & Din fittings. Some larger tanks are also available for those requiring a little extra air (pre-booking highly recommended). Nitrox is available.

The dive deck is spacious and comfortable, with dedicated rinse tanks, dive deck shelves, and a wide outdoor work table is perfect for underwater digital cameras complete with charging area.

Dive regions

Raja Ampat or ‘Four Kings’ is a true divers paradise, a wonderland lost in time, incredible natural beauty dominates above and below the blue waters; steep jungle-covered limestone islands, stunning white-sand beaches, hidden lagoons, and dense mangrove forests combine to create over 9.8 million acres of National Park. Underwater more than 1000 types of reef fish, 540 types of corals, sharks, Rays, turtles, dolphins and even whales call the park their home. This is the holy grail of dive destinations, truly one of the most beautiful places in the world.

Located off the East Coast of Kalimantan (The Indonesian portion of Borneo) the Islands of Sangalaki, Maratua and Kakaban offer some of the most remote, uncrowded and untouched diving spots visited by the Raja Manta. Not only will you be diving away from the crowds but the diving is spectacular with plenty of ‘Big Fish’ sightings possible throughout the area.

Sangalaki: Famous for large aggregations of Manta Rays who use the islands surrounding colourful reefs as a cleaning and breeding ground, in certain conditions Whale Sharks can also be spotted.

Kakaban: A stunning fresh water Jelly Fish Lake fringed by virgin Mangrove forest, Sheer drop-offs and walls that attract Huge schools of Trevally and Barracuda along with the possibility of Hammerhead, Grey Reef and Black Tip sharks.

Maratua: One of the most action-filled destinations in the region, The walls that surround this island provide some great Big Fish dives, massive schools of Chevron Barracuda, hunting Trevally, Thresher sharks and much, much more!

Ambon, Banda Sea & Forgotten Islands: From September through to December, the KM Raja Manta embarks upon once in a lifetime voyages across the Banda Sea, visiting the famed ‘Spice Islands’ to discover diving Nirvana in the ‘Ring of Fire’. This is diving as it was meant to be enjoyed, true exploration, away from the crowds, discovering dive sites that very few divers will get a chance to explore; discover unique and spectacular scenery both above and below the waves where volcanic activity has created a remote island paradise, only accessible to divers via liveaboard. With their unmatched experience in this area, they can show you just what an incredible destination this is and take you to their ‘Hammerhead hot spots’ where at certain times of the year schools of more than 200 Hammerheads have been witnessed. Besides the schools of Hammerhead sharks, you will find pristine coral reefs, unique local seaman in Alor, the great show of volcano eruption in Komba, tons of sea snakes in Manuk and a visit to the spice island in Banda Neira.
